Surgery- and good news

Hi All,
Robert had surgery last week to remove the tumor from his leg. I was travelling at the time but Tina was able to visit him afterwards in the hospital. He was in good spirits. One reason he was in a good mood was that the surgery went so well. There was a possibility that the surgeon would have had to take a substantial amount of thigh muscle and lead to Robert having little ability to ever walk normal again. But the good news is that the tumor and muscles were situated in just the right way so the doctor had to take out far less muscle than anticipated. Robert will be able to walk well eventually with a brace. Praise God. Thank you for your prayers.
Please keep praying- the reason for the surgery was that the tumor was growing and not shrinking. They had hoped the chemo would shrink it and make the operation less risky, but they just didn't want it to keep growing so it was time to operate. All reports are that the tumors in Robert's lungs are still responding to chemo and are shrinking. Keep praying! And pray for Robert's family- and for all them to have peace of mind through this stressful time.
Please keep checking back in. Tina is looking at doing the Relay for Life now and I will probably join her, so we will blog about that too. We'll do it in honor of Robby.
Peace- Corey
