Thank You

Thank you to all who attended and shared at Robbie's Funeral and Burial. Your presence was greatly appreciated by the family.
We are moving forward in life without the physical presence of Robbie. Without his smile- his humor- his hard head. But he is with us, in our memories.
We know that his faith in Christ Jesus has secured him a place in heaven with God forever.

Hello faithful prayer folks,
Robert is done with chemo for now. His doctors are having him do radiation treatments. I saw tatoos on him where they will aim the radiation.
so be in prayer for his health and that this radiation really gets those tumors.

Pray thru the Holidays

Hi folks- I really appreciate you faithful folks who are still checking in on this blog.
A Robert update. He is still fighting the cancer. Life is not easy. He will soon be undergoing a kind of radiation treatment that is aimed at specific tumors in his lungs. Pray that this works.
We are raising money for Robert to have a repaired truck that he can use and work on. If you are interested in giving to this fund, give me an email at thelaugers@yahoo.com
Well- for now just keep praying.
Thanks,
Corey

Continue in prayer...

Hi there,
Robert continues to receive chemotherapy treatments. Usually three days at a time- 2 or 3 times a month. He would love you to pray for him.
Pray for his daily discipline- there are a lot of little things every day that he needs to do, and I am sure that it gets tedious. You know taking all the right pills, drinking enough water, doing his physical therapy excercises. All of that- and much more- while he's not feeling all that great.
Pray for encouragment to come into his life. Through people and circumstances lets pray that Robert see and experience some good and happy things in the coming months.
Pray for complete healing.
thanks for praying,
Corey

I just got a voice mail from Robert's Dad. Robert got the results of tests- his tumors shrunk!!! so the intensive treatment he underwent last week worked and this means we are headed in the right direction.

Pray for Robert and Family

Hello Friends- it has been a long while since I updated you on Robert. He and I didn't connect this summer- we don't live in the same town and I was working under an assumption that things were going well. But Robert had a very rough summer. His health has declined significantly.
He needs prayer for strength. He has re-started chemo and we need to pray that it gets to work reducing the tumors in his lungs.
Please pray for his younger brother Sean, his older sister Bridget, his dad John and his mother Lori.
I appreciate your prayers.

Surgery- and good news

Hi All,
Robert had surgery last week to remove the tumor from his leg. I was travelling at the time but Tina was able to visit him afterwards in the hospital. He was in good spirits. One reason he was in a good mood was that the surgery went so well. There was a possibility that the surgeon would have had to take a substantial amount of thigh muscle and lead to Robert having little ability to ever walk normal again. But the good news is that the tumor and muscles were situated in just the right way so the doctor had to take out far less muscle than anticipated. Robert will be able to walk well eventually with a brace. Praise God. Thank you for your prayers.
Please keep praying- the reason for the surgery was that the tumor was growing and not shrinking. They had hoped the chemo would shrink it and make the operation less risky, but they just didn't want it to keep growing so it was time to operate. All reports are that the tumors in Robert's lungs are still responding to chemo and are shrinking. Keep praying! And pray for Robert's family- and for all them to have peace of mind through this stressful time.
Please keep checking back in. Tina is looking at doing the Relay for Life now and I will probably join her, so we will blog about that too. We'll do it in honor of Robby.
Peace- Corey

Pray for his continued stregth. Pray that he can keep his weight up. Pray for his family- for strength, peace and endurance.

Very good news

Hi there faithful friends,
I spoke with Robert today. He had a catscan yesterday and the report is that there is a shrinkange of about 25% of the tumors in his lungs. So the chemo is working and Robert is working hard at kicking out this sarcoma. thank you for your prayers, please continue to pray. Robert has many, many rounds of treatment to go. He is in the hospital tonight, having just done round #5.
Continue to pray for Robert's complete healing- for strength and endurance for himself and his family. We pray also for the medical staff- God be with them all.
Peace,
Corey

4th Round done

I visited with Robert yesterday. He had just finished the fourth round of chemo and was waiting for the doctors to tell him he could go home. By the time you are reading this he will already be at home. He is having less nausea during the chemo treatments- which is a very good thing. They are spacing the treatments by about 14 days- rather than longer, with the idea of giving him more chemo over a shorter period of time.
Soon they will give him a catscan and check on the size of the tumors and see how effective the chemo has been. Please continue to pray for Robert's healing- and for a good report.
Robbie looked good to me- he told me he is working hard to put on "LB's" in between treatments. LB's= pounds.
I know he would appreciate any notes or emails you send- his email is Lurch1333@yahoo.com
Thank you for your prayers,
Corey

Always need prayers

Hi folks,
Robert is home- he feels pretty good. Some days are better than others. Right now his "counts" are good- and they are looking at starting another round of chemo soon. We will keep you posted. In the meantime- keep praying for Robert's body, soul, mind and family.

Round #3

Robert is in the hospital, right now, receiving Round #3 of chemo. Reports from family are that he is getting kind of used to this "routine"- he is at least not surprised by a lot of what happens to his body. It is still very difficult, physically and mentally. So those of you who are faithfully checking in- please continue to pray for Robert's health. And remember to pray for his family- who are with him round the clock.
Thanks,
Corey

Robert is on the loose...

Hi Great News,
Robert is not in the hospital. His lungs are doing good on their own. He is a free man!
He will be back in the hospital in a few days for round #3 of chemo. But for now, today, and for a few more days he is home- doing fun stuff and enjoying life.
Praise God.
Robert has been in the hospital since the middle of December. He deserved a break.
Thanks for your prayers.

Robert Feeling Good

Robert wants to let you know that he has had one chest/lung tube removed. He still has another one for the other lung in place. This is good, this means the lung is staying "inflated" and not collapsing.
Please pray for the other lung and successful removal of the other tube. This would greatly increase Robert's comfort level, as he could move more, sleep easier and such. It would also greatly increase his chances for getting out of the hospital in between chemo treatments.
Ephesians 1:2-4,
Corey

Robert done with chemo round #2

Hi, Corey again.
Robert came through round 2 of chemo. He said it was hard to describe- he got much more sick than round 1 and lost 15 pounds in three days- but in one days time after the chemo he put back on 5 pounds- thanks to double cheeseburgers and some good food. He has an amazing attitude.
He asked me to have us all pray for his health also especially for his family. Robert said, "This is as hard for them as it is for me."
Robbie shaved his head and I think it looks really good.
He has asked me to do this blog for now. He has read your blog comments and appreciates your thoughts and prayers. He is still getting used to having his own email- so replies may come slowly if at all.
Thanks for visiting this blog. I know that means that you are praying for Robert and his family.
May God bless you.

Hi, please leave a note for Robert!

Hi my name is Corey and I am a good friend of Robert's. I created this blog for him and I am helping get used to it. It would be really cool if you would send him an encouraging note. You can do this by leaving a comment on any of the posts on this blog- all the comments are emailed directly to him.
Robert is accepting prayers for his health, for elimination of the cancer in his body, for endurance, strength and patience for him, his family and the hospital staff.
I appreciate you visiting this blog. My hope is to get Robert to post some stuff once he is comfortable.
Thanks,
Corey

About Robert

I am Robert. I am 18. I live in Spokane, WA. I am currently fighting to get Sarcoma (cancer) out of my body. The way I see it, if the cancer ain't paying rent- it's time for it to get the heck out!
